The Cairns Visual Arts Association consists of a network of visual arts organisations and practicing artists in the Cairns Region.

We are dedicated to the development of visual art and artists in the region and are active in the promotion of exhibitions, fostering awareness of the visual arts and the facilitation of arts events. This includes the provision of communication, liaison, referral and coordination services between member groups, government agencies and other interest parties. A principle concern is to raise issues relating to the development of visual arts in the region in an open and frank manner - to stimulate public debate and advance the status of visual arts and artists.

Apart from attending public forums the VAA has entered into partnerships to facilitate the promotion of artists.
